WHAT IS LARVIKITE?
Larvikite, found in the Larvic Region of Norway, is an igneous stone made up of feldspar minerals similar to Labradorite. Feldspars are a group of rock-forming minerals that crystallize from magma and are largely present in exclusive types of metamorphic rock.
HOW IS LARVIKITE FORMED?
Larvikite is a magmatic rock formed at depth, 18 miles below the earths surface. As the magma starts to cool, crystals start to form within the hardened rock. Microscopic changes within the feldspar minerals tend to cause a blue shimmer when the stone is cut just right.
DOES LARVIKITE HAVE ANY HEALING BENEFITS?
Said to be used as a protective and grounding stone, Larvikite is widely believed to ward off negative energy, stimulate creativity and increase patience. Larvikite is also thought to help one retain new information easily, while also helping with learning disabilities.
